The NY Metro Raging Grannies & Their Daughters was started and sponsored
by the New York City
Where will we sing next?Sunday June 28th, at New York City's First Annual Water Festival, Free Concert and Networking Event, Noon to Midnight at the "Frying Pan" - Pier 66 at West 26th Street on the Hudson River, featuring Pete Seeger and many others, including Deodato, Peaceniks, Haale, Goddess Herstory, and Joel Landy. Pete Seeger, the folk music legend, founded the environmental organization Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, which has been essential to the clean-up of the Hudson River and to environmental consciousness. New York City Friends of Clearwater, the local sloop club chapter of Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, is organizing this event as part of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson the explorer sailing up the Hudson River for the first time. This festival celebrates the essential nature of water and the improved natural environment in some locales, which must be vigilantly guarded and re-invigorated. Such water consciousness also realizes the eroding of water conditions in many parts of the world such as China and India. The festival will include education about the Worldwide Water Crisis and about the conditions in the Hudson River. Networking among water activists is encouraged at this free 12-hour festival. If you live near enough to travel to our meetings
in New York City (Manhattan),
you can join the Raging Grannies and Their Daughters. You need not be a
grandmother,
and can, in fact, be any age. No singing talent is required, just
enthusiasm!
